He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association and the Hillsborough County Dental Association. He has completed additional, rigorous training in advanced dentistry at the prestigious L. D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne and has received certificates from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (conscious sedation) and the Midwest Implant Institute (implant surgery).

Dr. Cherry is one of few dental practitioners in the area to offer conscious sedation dentistry, a method where patients can have years of dental procedures done in just a few sittings with virtually no pain or anxiety. Conscious sedation dentistry allows even the most fearful patients to relax and realize the full potential of their smile. Because of Dr. Cherry's desire to offer this exciting option to patients, he is a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
